Job description
About the role
This position is for a cashier in a busy retail travel-stop setting. The work is fast paced, customer-facing, and centered on keeping the store clean, organized, and welcoming. The role calls for a friendly attitude, accurate service, and the ability to adjust to changing business needs. No previous experience is required because training is provided.
What you'll do
- Support customers with everyday service needs, including locating products, answering questions about items and services, and helping resolve concerns.
- Handle register transactions accurately, keep the cash drawer balanced, and look for opportunities to suggest additional items in line with applicable state and local regulations.
- Help maintain food safety standards for fresh food and deli items by using the required methods and tools.
- Keep your work area clean, along with the sales floor, restrooms, showers, gas and diesel pumps, and trash areas.
- Take on extra responsibilities as needed, which may include training in areas such as restaurant services, fresh kitchen operations, facility maintenance, or leadership.
- Be able to lift and move more than 25 pounds and work in environments with varying temperatures.
