Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the bank’s wider strategic direction by helping translate overall goals into actionable retail banking plans. The role centers on planning, budgeting, performance review, reporting, and coordination across key functions to keep retail banking aligned with business priorities.
Strategic Focus
- Build a clear understanding of the bank’s strategic priorities and contribute to the delivery of the department’s related plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual retail banking business planning and budgeting cycle so it stays aligned with divisional priorities and the bank’s broader strategy.
- Review performance regularly against financial and operational goals, then prepare clear variance analysis and practical recommendations for senior leadership.
- Work closely with Finance, Strategy, IT, and Retail Banking teams to gather accurate data, validate planning inputs, and strengthen performance reporting.
- Spot patterns, risks, and growth opportunities in retail banking performance data and turn those findings into decision-making insights.
- Make sure performance reports, dashboards, and executive presentation materials are delivered on time and with strong quality.
- Continuously improve planning approaches, reporting tools, and analytical frameworks used by the business.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on financial results, planning progress, and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Discuss and align with business units on target assumptions and corrective actions during performance review discussions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field is preferred.
- CFA Level I, CIMA, or a similar certification in financial planning or management accounting is preferred.
- About 5+ years of experience is expected, with a preference for 3 years in a relevant role.
- Background in retail banking business planning, financial performance management, or strategy analysis within banking, financial services, or a related environment is preferred.
