Role Summary
This position focuses on leading food service sales development across assigned Southern California markets to help achieve established sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of profit and loss performance for the territory.
- Plan and control the sales territory budget.
- Coordinate closely with key accounts and distribution partners.
- Build customer- and distributor-level plans that support 7% to 12% profit sales growth.
Broker Management
- Lead and coordinate multiple brokers across the assigned sales region.
- Deliver sales training for broker sales teams.
- Partner with broker staff to inform, engage, and motivate them.
- Create broker incentive programs and contests to drive sales results.
- Ensure distributor and operator marketing initiatives stay within approved marketing budgets.
Sales Activities
- Stay highly active in the market through end-user visits and product demonstrations with distributors, especially with major operators and distributors.
- Present a polished, professional image and attitude at all times.
- Support regional and national multi-unit sales efforts as assigned.
- Develop strong product knowledge, including features, benefits, operator applications, pricing, shipping, minimum order requirements, and related details.
- Study competitor offerings and build effective selling strategies against them.
- Manage travel and entertainment spending carefully.
- Attend relevant meetings and company events.
- Take part in the annual MBO program.
Sales Administration
- Partner with the sales administrator to keep operator and distributor programs current and accounts receivable on track.
- Work with customer service representatives to maintain strong customer satisfaction.
- Submit accurate and timely records such as expense reports, sales reports, broker recaps, and operator call reports.
- Handle additional duties that match the same skill set and working conditions.
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required, along with five years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
Skills and Qualifications
The role calls for strategic sales thinking that aligns with company market goals, strong written and verbal communication, excellent people and customer service skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
