Role overview
Repco is seeking a Retail Assistant for its Mount Maunganui store. The position is based in a customer-facing retail environment and focuses on helping shoppers have a positive in-store experience from the moment they arrive through to purchase completion.
Working hours
The roster for this role is Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday and Tuesday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, totalling 42.5 hours per week.
Main focus of the role
You will support customers with product guidance, help identify what they need, suggest suitable add-ons where appropriate, and complete sales through the till. The role also involves maintaining a safe, organised, and welcoming shop environment.
Key duties
- Keep safety front of mind for yourself, your teammates, and customers at all times.
- Deliver warm, authentic service and create positive moments for customers.
- Use strong customer service skills to help drive sales results.
- Maintain high standards in showroom presentation and merchandising.
- Handle stock activities such as receiving, dispatching, and storing goods.
- Work cooperatively as part of the Repco team and help build a positive workplace culture.
Role requirements
This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and delivering excellent service. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, although full product training will be provided. An interest in the automotive sector is an advantage, but strong customer focus is more important. You should be comfortable working in a sales-driven retail setting, dealing with a wide range of customers, and communicating clearly in person and over the phone. A proactive, team-oriented attitude is essential. The job also requires lifting, bending, and climbing.
