Job description
About the Role
ALDI is seeking a Store Assistant for its Arana Hills location. This role is suited to someone who is eager to begin a retail career, brings a positive attitude, and is ready to learn on the job. No prior retail experience is necessary.
ALDI operates differently from a standard supermarket, so this position offers exposure to multiple parts of the store instead of limiting you to one area. The stores trade every day, including weekends and public holidays, which means the work is varied and fast-moving.
What You’ll Do
- Provide friendly customer service at the registers and help shoppers with a positive approach.
- Keep shelves filled so customers can easily find the products they want.
- Manage stock carefully, including checking dates and ensuring items are correctly priced.
- Create attractive displays for ALDI special buys and promotional items.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and presentable store environment.
Additional Information
This position offers an hourly rate of $31.27 plus applicable shift allowances. The average roster is 15 hours per week. The job is a permanent part-time role, so it includes leave entitlements such as paid leave, parental leave, and sick leave.
ALDI highlights strong internal career progression, with extensive training and more than 80% of store management roles filled from within the company. You’ll work in a small, supportive team within an organisation that has been recognised as an Employer of Choice seven times.
Employee support also includes the MyALDI Wellbeing program, discounted access to Fitness Passport and health insurance, free confidential Employee Assistance Program support for employees and their families, free physiotherapy for non-work-related issues, and leave support for important life events such as paid parental leave, superannuation on parental leave, compassionate leave of up to 5 days, natural disaster leave, and emergency services leave.
ALDI states that it is committed to sustainability, community support, and helping customers enjoy better value for less. The company also welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and identities and aims to provide an inclusive workplace.
