Restaurant Utility Worker

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking to add a Restaurant Utility Worker to the team in Elizabethton, Tennessee. This role supports the restaurant by keeping the building and equipment clean, safe, and in good working order through routine upkeep, deep-cleaning tasks, and basic preventive maintenance.

What this role handles

• Carry out daily, scheduled, and ad hoc cleaning tasks across the restaurant
• Perform deep-cleaning work and pressure washing inside and outside the location
• Complete routine preventive maintenance on restaurant equipment
• Check equipment, operate it, and test it to spot problems or breakdowns
• Handle minor lighting repairs and other small fixes as needed
• Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for maintenance concerns
• Keep the restaurant environment safe, clean, and well maintained
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, safety procedures, operating instructions, and related documents
• Maintain accurate and current maintenance logs
• Follow all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC policies, procedures, and operating standards
• Work safely at all times and raise human resources or risk concerns to the General Manager and District Manager right away
• Escalate additional issues to the supervisor when needed
• Take on other tasks required to keep restaurant operations running smoothly
• Complete all training required by Zax LLC

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Reliable transportation is required
• Availability for a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• For full-time availability, the role requires 32 to 40 hours per week
• For part-time availability, the role requires 9 to 28 hours per week
• Strong organizational ability, leadership qualities, and a cooperative approach to working with others

Physical and work environment requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb occasionally, including using ladders
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting
• Constant use of hands and wrists for gripping and precise movement
• Ability to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing
• Ability to notice and respond to the environment using audio and visual awareness
• Comfort working both indoors and outdoors with hot and cold temperature changes and exposure to food and outdoor allergens
• Ability to use restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous equipment
