The role focuses on overseeing day-to-day service, supporting menu planning, maintaining hygiene standards, assisting staff and hosts during busy meal periods, and improving both guest and employee satisfaction while driving financial performance in the assigned area. It also involves identifying training needs and putting the required development plans into action.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have either a high school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related field, or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in food and beverage management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or a related major, along with 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related area.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and manage the full range of daily restaurant operations, including being ready to cover duties when team members are absent.
- Maintain strong service and cleanliness standards across the restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service areas.
- Review staffing levels to ensure customer service, operational needs, and financial targets are met.
- Lead the food and beverage team through clear communication, sound business judgment, integrity, and hands-on leadership.
- Build trust, respect, and collaboration within the team and serve as a positive role model for conduct and professionalism.
- Identify development needs and support team growth through coaching, mentoring, training, and follow-up.
- Set priorities, define goals, and organize work to achieve strong productivity and departmental results.
- Ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, procedures, standards, and relevant laws, including food safety, hygiene, and alcohol service requirements.
- Monitor alcohol service in line with local laws and make sure employees understand regional, state, and federal liquor regulations.
- Deliver exceptional guest service and respond effectively to guest issues, complaints, and feedback.
- Engage guests informally during and after meals to assess food quality, service levels, and overall satisfaction.
- Take corrective action to improve service outcomes and keep customer satisfaction as a standing topic in team discussions.
- Guide team members on performance expectations and monitor results against set standards.
- Support staff development by creating or delivering formal training and learning programs as needed.
- Promote fair treatment, improve retention, and encourage an open-door environment for employee concerns and feedback.
- Provide information clearly to supervisors, peers, and direct reports through verbal, written, email, or in-person communication.
- Analyze information, evaluate options, and select effective solutions to resolve problems.
- Support staff and hosts during peak meal periods and manage the day shift in the absence of the restaurant manager.
- Oversee the financial side of the department, including purchasing and invoice approval.
