Role summary
Etihad is hiring a Resource Planning Officer with a focus on automation and advanced analytics. The role is centered on building medium- and long-range manpower plans, improving staff allocation, and making sure workforce deployment remains aligned with legal, regulatory, and business rules.
Key responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and improve detailed short-, medium-, and long-term manpower plans that match flight schedules and operational demand, while keeping staffing compliant and efficient.
- Run simulations and “what if” analyses to help lower manpower costs and achieve the best use of available resources.
- Study manpower data, trends, and business factors such as seasonal patterns and financial constraints to shape resourcing plans for the medium and long term.
- Regularly review and refresh planning outputs so staffing continues to meet regulatory and internal standards.
- Work closely with Finance to define and validate the manpower budget in line with financial guidelines and company targets.
- Monitor key performance indicators and prepare management reporting on workforce resourcing and budgeting.
- Prepare and issue manpower rosters and communicate them in a timely manner to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Performance Managers by sharing information about disciplinary, training, and medical matters so corrective actions can be taken without delay.
- Flag risks and possible issues to management early so operational impact can be reduced and corrective measures can be implemented quickly.
Required qualifications and experience
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, along with advanced analytical methods used in workforce planning, capacity modelling, forecasting, and business intelligence.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, with hands-on experience creating low-code business applications and automation workflows.
- Ability to examine large operational datasets and turn the results into strategic recommendations and practical insights for management.
- Experience in building and maintaining KPI dashboards, forecasting tools, and automated reporting solutions.
- A strong interest in using technology, automation, and data-led decision-making to improve efficiency and optimize resources.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience if the candidate holds a degree, or at least 3 years of relevant experience if the candidate does not hold a degree.
