The company works with builders and developers throughout Alberta to deliver site services that support strong residential communities from the ground up.
Role Overview
ECC is hiring an experienced Residential Grading & Loaming Operator for its Calgary team. The role mainly involves fine grading and loaming for new home construction during the building season, with a shift into snow removal work during winter months.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with equipment operating experience who enjoys detailed work and takes pride in producing accurate finished grades.
Key Duties
- Run Bobcat 463 and S70 mini skid steers for residential grading and loaming tasks
- Complete fine grading and final lot preparation for new residential builds
- Operate safely and effectively in confined spaces between houses and other structures
- Use foot-controlled equipment across different site conditions
- Keep productivity high while meeting grading and quality standards
- Follow all company safety rules and project site requirements
- Coordinate with supervisors, builders, and crew members to keep work moving smoothly
- Carry out basic equipment care and flag any mechanical or operational issues
- Assist with snow removal operations during the winter season
Required Background
Applicants should bring at least one year of skid steer operating experience in residential construction, along with hands-on experience in residential grading and loaming. Prior use of equipment with foot controls is mandatory. The role also requires confidence working in narrow-access residential settings, a solid grasp of site safety and task sequencing, and a dependable, self-driven approach.
Preferred Experience
Additional advantages include experience with full-size skid steers, checking and marking grades, operating snow removal equipment, and working on high-volume residential construction projects.
Compensation and Schedule
The pay range is $35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time, year-round position with guaranteed winter pay and a transition into snow removal work. Work is steady through the construction season.
