Role Overview

We are currently inviting applications for the position of Residential Care Worker / Youth Worker to support young children within a structured residential setting based in Gladstone. This role demands professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the capability to handle complex behaviours while fostering a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver trauma-informed, high-quality care to children and youth in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily activities including personal care, meals, educational support, and recreational activities.
• Implement individualised care plans, behavioural support strategies, and risk assessments effectively.
• Manage challenging behaviours using approved de-escalation and behaviour management techniques.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records, including incident documentation and progress reports.
• Collaborate closely with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
• Ensure adherence to NDIS standards, Child Safety regulations, and internal organisational policies.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated prior experience supporting children or youth within residential care or comparable environments.
• Deep understanding of trauma-informed care approaches and behaviour management techniques.
• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or an equivalent qualification is highly regarded.
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Up-to-date First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Possession of a valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Flexibility to work shifts including overnight sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
• Availability to commence work immediately.
