Job Summary
This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and commencing treatment for patients under consultant supervision. The professional will work in rotational shifts covering nights, weekends, and public holidays. Immediate response to emergencies with patient stabilization until consultant support is available is critical. Comprehensive medical documentation including treatment charts, progress notes, and discharge summaries is required. Continuous monitoring of critically ill patients, including those on ventilation, is a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and initiate treatment following consultant guidance.
- Operate in rotational shifts: nights, weekends, and public holidays included.
- Provide immediate attention to emergencies and stabilize patients prior to consultant arrival.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, treatment sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Continuously monitor critically ill patients and manage ventilated individuals under supervision.
- Support ICU procedures such as intubation, central venous catheter insertion, and arterial line placement.
- Keep ICU treatment documentation precise and up-to-date.
- Offer counseling to patient relatives as directed by the treating consultant.
- Execute and document cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) aligned with current ACLS protocols.
- Respond promptly to all medical emergencies and code blue events.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must hold an MBBS degree.
- Proficient in emergency care and intensive care unit (ICU) procedures.
- Skilled in patient monitoring and emergency stabilization techniques.
- Adept at emergency assessment and triaging patients.
