Research Psychologist (Survey Subject Matter Expert) - Requires Security Clearance

Overview

LMI is hiring an experienced Research Psychologist specializing as a Survey Subject Matter Expert to support the U.S. Army's Holistic Health & Fitness (H2F) program. This role is embedded within the Research functional team of the H2F Program Support Team and requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance, with preference given to candidates holding an active Secret clearance.

The primary responsibility is to assist in designing, implementing, analyzing, and interpreting survey-based research tools that evaluate behavioral, cognitive, psychosocial, and organizational factors affecting Soldier readiness and performance within the Holistic Health and Fitness Management System (H2FMS). This applied analytical position ensures scientific rigor of survey methods, their proper implementation, and seamless integration into H2FMS data analytics and user-facing outputs. All efforts are conducted under Government direction and coordination with the Technical Project Manager (TPM). This role does not encompass independent research strategy development or clinical assessment roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and refining survey instruments to assess multiple factors related to H2F goals, including behavioral and organizational dimensions.
• Apply psychometric and research principles to validate reliability and appropriate application of survey measures.
• Align survey content with government-approved objectives and constructs.
• Support survey administration in collaboration with government stakeholders and technical teams.
• Monitor survey deployment, ensuring data quality, response rates, and completeness.
• Coordinate with data engineering teams for seamless survey data ingestion into H2FMS.
• Analyze and interpret survey findings to detect trends and derive insights relevant to Soldier readiness and performance.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, tactical sports scientists, and data scientists to enable multidisciplinary data analysis.
• Translate survey insights into analytic features, metrics, or summaries for decision support.
• Work with analytics and software development teams to integrate survey results into dashboards, reports, and user-oriented tools.
• Contribute to validating and reviewing analytic products incorporating survey-derived data.
• Ensure survey results are presented with contextual information and limitations.
• Maintain thorough documentation regarding survey methodology, assumptions, and appropriate interpretations.
• Assist in preparing summaries, briefings, and communications for government stakeholders.
• Ensure all survey communications adhere to approved terminology and messaging standards.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Human Factors, Social Science, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, or analyzing survey research.
• In-depth knowledge of research methodologies, psychometrics, and data interpretation techniques.
• Experience supporting applied research or analytics in military, government, or large organizational contexts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse multidisciplinary teams including research, analytics, and software development.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Eligibility to obtain Secret security clearance; active Secret clearance preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in behavioral or psychosocial research related to health, readiness, performance, or organizational effectiveness.
• Experience integrating survey data into analytic platforms or decision-support systems.
• Familiarity with data science or AI/ML collaboration.
• Previous work experience supporting Department of the Army or federal clients.

Additional Information

The position carries a target salary range between $90,000 and $155,000 annually. Actual compensation varies depending on factors such as location, internal policies, business needs, client requirements, education, experience, skills, and security clearance status.
