Research Associate, Immuno-Oncology Research

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and driven Research Associate to join our Immuno-Oncology Research team focused on pioneering mRNA-based cancer therapies. The incumbent will employ molecular biology and immunology methods to analyze mRNA drug candidates and relevant biomarkers in vitro and in vivo, supporting early-stage preclinical studies, IND-enabling research, and translational work. This hands-on laboratory position demands technical proficiency and the ability to thrive within a dynamic, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize mRNA products to demonstrate protein expression and assess activity of immuno-oncology and autoimmune therapeutic targets in both laboratory and animal experimental settings.
• Develop expertise in preclinical cancer, autoimmune, and toxicology models.
• Conduct and support assays including immune cell isolation, cell culture, ELISA/MSD, flow cytometry, cell-based functional and reporter assays, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic sample processing and analysis.
• Collaborate effectively with both immediate team members and broader cross-functional scientific groups.
• Maintain organized laboratory spaces and accurate, up-to-date electronic lab notebooks.
• Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data clearly at team meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 0 years of relevant experience in immuno-oncology or immunology.
• Practical know-how in mammalian cell culture, cell transfections, extending immune cell cultures, co-culture experiments, and multi-color flow cytometry.
• Preferred experience includes protein detection techniques such as MSD and ELISA, multi-color flow cytometry data analysis, assay development, troubleshooting, immune cell handling, and familiarity with qPCR and ddPCR methods.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-centered environment.
• U.S. work authorization required; sponsorship unavailable at this time.

Preferred Skills

• At least one year of relevant immuno-oncology or immunology experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously and contribute effectively to high-performing teams.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience working with human or non-human primate primary cell cultures.
• Proficiency in GraphPad Prism and Omiq software for flow cytometry data evaluation.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary for this position ranges from $63,200 to $100,900 annually, with exact placement dependent on factors such as expertise, education, certifications, performance, and organizational needs. Candidates may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, other incentive programs, and equity awards based on company policies and individual achievements.
