Job Overview

The Research Associate I will play an essential role within the Molecular & Cellular Biology (MCBio) team by aiding the development of novel recombinant proteins and antibodies. This position requires collaboration with diverse teams and technical support on research projects to establish new product lines.

Key Duties

  • Prepare buffers and media for cell culture experiments
  • Maintain cultures of mammalian and insect cells
  • Perform transfection and transduction to manage protein production
  • Purify recombinant proteins and antibodies per strict SOPs to achieve set specifications
  • Prepare and organize reagents and maintain laboratory upkeep
  • Document experimental processes and generate comprehensive reports
  • Maintain batch records and comply with ISO13485:2016 standards
  • Independently and collaboratively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Analyze experimental outcomes critically and plan subsequent steps
  • Engage in process optimization and improvement experiments
  • Occasionally work during holidays and weekends as required
  • Undertake other projects and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related scientific discipline
  • At least one year of practical experience with mammalian or bacterial cell cultures

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in expression and purification of recombinant proteins and antibodies
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Capacity to lead experimental studies with minimal oversight
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and effective team player in small groups
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The role is primarily lab-based with some periods involving warehouse exposure. Daily tasks involve manual dexterity with hands and fingers, standing, talking, and hearing. The candidate must be capable of meeting the physical demands typical of laboratory and related environments.

Compensation and Benefits

The base hourly wage ranges from 22 to 29 USD, reflective of experience, skills, and education.
