About the Role
Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is hiring a Research Associate I for Dr. Elizabeth Budde’s T Cell Therapeutics Research Laboratories in Duarte, California. This position supports highly advanced research focused on immune-based therapies and innovative methods for treating serious diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions.
The work is fast-moving and centered on laboratory research that contributes to the development of new therapeutic approaches. The environment is best suited to someone who enjoys hands-on experimental work, careful documentation, and collaboration in a mission-driven research setting.
Key Duties
- Carry out tissue culture work, keep cell lines healthy and uncontaminated, and use sterile technique across multiple cell systems, with emphasis on T cell lines.
- Run T cell performance assays such as cytotoxicity testing, cytokine measurement, and ELISA-based experiments.
- Prepare samples for multicolor flow cytometry, perform staining procedures, and interpret flow cytometry results.
- Support animal-related laboratory work, including murine surgical procedures, tissue collection, and tissue preparation.
- Help update and maintain laboratory protocols and provide day-to-day support for lab operations.
- Work in line with Good Laboratory Practices and maintain accurate experimental records.
Required Background
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- You should bring strong precision in laboratory work, excellent attention to detail, and dependable record-keeping habits.
