Research Assistant - Semantic Data Translation in Energy Systems

About the Role

The School of Business at Maynooth University invites applications for a Research Assistant position supporting the EU Horizon-funded ADFLEX project. This initiative focuses on creating a semantic translation bridge to dismantle data silos across local energy ecosystems, including households, electric vehicles, and photovoltaic systems, connecting them seamlessly with Distribution System Operators using the IEEE 2030.5 protocol.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary technical team to develop and refine a Python-based Small Language Model for semantic data translation.
• Assist in integrating translated data within the ENERSHARE Dataspace environment.
• Develop APIs to provide translated data access to Distribution System Operators.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to develop expertise in semantic web technologies, data interoperability, and API development.
• Ability to work effectively within a dynamic and collaborative technical team.

• Annual Salary: €34,134 (pro rata, 1 point on salary scale)
