Research Assistant (Qualitative Research in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

About the Role

The DAN Women & Babies Program is looking for a motivated and experienced research professional to join their qualitative research team within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The position involves collaborating closely with the Principal Investigator to perform phenomenological thematic analysis on transcribed interview data. Additionally, the role includes compiling research outcomes and assisting in preparing manuscripts for publication.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute thematic analysis on interview transcripts applying a phenomenological methodology.
• Document research findings effectively in written formats.
• Assist in drafting and contributing to academic manuscripts.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Possess at least a bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline or an equivalent qualification; a master's degree (MSc) is considered an advantage.
• Minimum of two years experience as a research assistant specializing in qualitative research preferred.
• Experience with phenomenology in healthcare contexts is advantageous.
• Familiarity with project management principles and research methodologies.
• Knowledge of applicable research regulations and standards including ICH-GCP, TCPS2, N2 SOPs, and Health Canada Division 5.
• Strong computer literacy, especially advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
