Role Overview

As a Mortgage Loan Officer focusing on purchase loans, you will manage loan originations from initial contact to loan funding. Your work style can align either with a high-volume, data-driven sales team or a relationship-focused team that partners closely with Zillow Preferred Agents. You'll convert loans using Zillow's advanced technology and resources, ensuring metrics-based performance and customer satisfaction. This position is fully remote with location constraints, requiring residence within Washington State. Any relocation requests outside Washington are subject to company approval and may be declined.

Responsibilities

• Originate and oversee purchase mortgage loans, guaranteeing full compliance with standards.
• Convert Zillow-generated leads into closed loans through proactive client engagement and advice.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers and, if applicable, local real estate agents.
• Manage a loan pipeline consistently, achieving defined service and productivity goals.
• Utilize Zillow’s CRM, loan origination software, and data tools to track pipeline and client interactions.
• Collaborate with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to ensure efficient loan progress.
• Deliver excellent customer service via phone, email, and text throughout the loan process.
• Stay informed on market trends, regulations, and lending products to provide customized financing options.
• Maintain necessary licensing, complete ongoing education, and pursue professional development.
• Comply with data collection policies including voiceprint recordings for operational and compliance use.

Compensation

This role offers a competitive base salary plus incentive earnings. Wage ranges for Washington state employees fall between $12 and $25 per hour. Eligibility for equity grants is also available based on performance, experience, and location. Salaries will meet or exceed local exemption thresholds.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of mortgage origination experience focused on purchase transactions.
• Active NMLS license for the state of Washington or operation under a federal bank license.
• Completion of 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education and passing the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test.
• Proven ability to succeed in either a high-volume phone sales environment or a relationship-driven referral model.
• Strong client service skills with a consultative sales approach and comprehensive mortgage knowledge.
• Comfortable working in structured environments with performance metrics and KPIs.
• Excellent communication and trust-building capabilities.
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and pipeline oversight.
• Proficient in CRM platforms, loan origination systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
