Mortgage Loan Officers operate within two focused teams: one that succeeds in a volume-driven, phone-based environment perfect for quick customer conversions, and another that thrives on relationship building with Zillow Preferred Agents for long-term partnerships. Both teams contribute to our primary mission of purchase-focused lending, supported by Zillow’s technology, brand strength, and operational backing.
Role Overview
This position involves originating home purchase loans for customers introduced through Zillow’s platform. The Mortgage Loan Officer will manage the loan process from initial contact to funding, delivering outstanding customer service. Depending on personal skills, an individual may work in a digital, high-frequency conversion setting or a relationship-driven local market approach. Success is measured by responsiveness and meeting structured performance metrics, all supported by Zillow’s vast platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and oversee purchase mortgage loans from application to closing, maintaining compliance.
- Convert Zillow-provided purchase leads into funded loans through proactive borrower engagement.
- Establish and maintain solid relationships with customers and relevant real estate agents or partners.
- Handle an active pipeline while achieving service, productivity, and funding goals.
- Utilize Zillow’s CRM, loan origination software, and analytical tools to monitor pipeline and client interactions.
- Collaborate with centralized processing, underwriting, and closing teams to ensure smooth loan progression.
- Provide a steady, high-quality customer experience via telephone, email, and text communications.
- Keep updated with market trends, loan products, and regulations to offer appropriate financing solutions.
- Maintain licensure, complete continuing education, and engage in professional development activities.
- Comply with operational procedures involving collection and use of voice records for compliance purposes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years mortgage origination expertise focusing on purchase loans, with current NMLS licensing or operating under a federal bank license.
- Completion of 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education and passage of the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test (National Component with Uniform State Content).
- Residency within 75 miles of Atlanta, GA.
- Demonstrated success in either a high-volume phone sales environment or an agent-referral based model.
- Strong client service and consultative selling capabilities with detailed mortgage process knowledge.
- Experience working in metrics-driven organizational structures with clear KPIs.
- Excellent verbal communication and ability to quickly build customer trust.
- Skilled time and pipeline management abilities.
- Proficient in using CRM platforms, loan origination systems, and Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred but candidates with relevant transferable skills are welcomed.
Additional Information
This position is classified as remote; employees work from a chosen location within the United States, identifying that location with the company. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and incentive pay. Employees will not be paid below applicable state salary thresholds. Equity awards may be provided based on experience and performance.
