Job description
Assignment overview
This is a short-term, task-based online volunteering assignment with remote participation. It is non-contractual, and online volunteers are not UN Volunteers; therefore, no allowance or other entitlement is provided. A certificate of appreciation is issued after successful completion. UNV does not take part in the selection process or in the collaboration itself.
Host organization and context
The assignment is hosted by WFP Peru in response to the challenges faced by Venezuelan refugees and migrants in Peru, especially during and after the pandemic. The work supports the country strategy focused on helping refugees, displaced people, and other vulnerable groups meet their basic food and nutrition needs during crises. It is part of broader efforts to strengthen reactive social protection, emergency preparedness, and assistance for highly vulnerable migrant families in locations such as Lima, Callao, Arequipa, Tumbes, and Puno, among others.
Through its interventions, WFP has expanded support to migrant and refugee households by providing cash transfers along with guidance on nutrition and social protection services. The assignment also contributes to collecting information and evidence to monitor the project and improve its impact.
