About the Role
Private Wealth Management (PWM) Asia at Morgan Stanley serves ultra-affluent clients with highly tailored financial guidance, investment solutions, and brokerage support. The team works with individuals, families, and foundations with total net worth of USD 35 million or above.
In this position, the Relationship Manager will build and oversee client relationships for ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth investors, identify suitable opportunities, and help shape and execute investment strategies. The role also involves managing brokerage and asset management activity with access to the firm’s sales, trading, research, and advisory capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deep, long-term relationships with clients across individual, family, and business needs.
- Stay current on client profiles, investment goals, and risk tolerance so advice remains relevant.
- Create and recommend investment strategies that align with client objectives, needs, and risk parameters.
- Support sales, marketing, prospecting, and new product development efforts.
- Work toward individual targets spanning client book growth, sales and financial outcomes, and strong risk/compliance standards.
- Apply a solid understanding of local regulatory expectations for investment advisory activities.
- Use quantitative analysis to help generate investment ideas, support trade execution, and develop advanced strategies for UHNW clients in Asia, including individuals and family offices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a similar field, and bring 6 to 10 years of experience in business development and sales, including consultative selling across a broad range of products. A strong grasp of investment products and portfolio strategy for UHNW clients is essential.
Excellent interpersonal abilities are required, along with strong communication skills in Chinese, English, and Mandarin depending on market coverage. Professional credentials such as CPWP and CFA are preferred.
