Job description
Role overview
The Relationship Manager role is focused on driving sales through assigned channel relationships while maintaining strong visibility in the market and upholding service expectations.
Role context and key challenges
This position is responsible for strengthening goodwill and day-to-day engagement with channel partners and distributors through consistent interaction and quick resolution of service issues. A major part of the role is to keep partners informed about products and schemes so they can create awareness among retail and corporate investors.
The job also involves handling multiple relationship types at once, each of which requires a different approach. For example, working with IFAs is not the same as managing corporate clients. In addition, the role demands continuous updates on market developments, distributor activity, and strong knowledge of the debt and equity markets in a fast-changing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Put sales plans into action and work toward higher sales by engaging regularly with clients and channel partners.
- Collect and assess market information, identify new prospects, make direct business pitches, and coordinate closely with channel partners and corporates to expand sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain client relationships through timely support, regular visibility, and training-related interactions.
- Meet distributors, IFAs, and NDs on a regular basis to strengthen relationships and improve engagement.
- Follow internal sales processes, maintain required reports, and ensure compliance with audit and reporting standards.
Other requirements and job challenges
The role requires the ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships, stay updated on market intelligence, and maintain strong knowledge of debt and equity market dynamics.
Consistency in service quality, responsiveness to partner needs, and adherence to internal controls are important parts of the position.
