About the Role
The Relationship Manager – Farmer Finance position is a specialized function within the Retail Liabilities division, dedicated to providing customized financial solutions to agricultural customers. The incumbent is responsible for acquiring new clients, strengthening existing relationships, and delivering outstanding service. Collaboration with product and operations teams is essential to support customer acquisition, portfolio growth, and servicing activities. This role plays a vital part in achieving branch banking objectives by managing New-to-Bank clients and improving overall customer profitability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Expand liabilities by increasing account balances for existing Kisan Credit Card (KCC) customers and maximizing share of wallet.
- Proactively identify business opportunities through monitoring account inflows and outflows.
- Maintain regular communication with customers through calls and mailers, providing updates on interest rates, exchange rates, and products.
- Generate leads for new KCC acquisitions via referrals, brokers, and other sources.
- Acquire new KCC customers with thorough knowledge of credit evaluation and financial documentation.
- Utilize expertise in liabilities, forex, trade finance, delinquency control, and relationship management to grow business volumes.
- Oversee the KCC portfolio by continual monitoring, renewals, retention, and ensuring portfolio hygiene with minimal defaults and compliance breaches.
- Collaborate effectively with branch banking teams to enhance synergies within the bank ecosystem.
- Assess growth strategies by analyzing competitors and customer feedback.
- Propose improvements to streamline service quality and process efficiency across branches.
- Exhibit strong skills in sales strategy, promotions, and marketing endeavors.
- Understand financial statements, credit assessment procedures, and security documentation comprehensively.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Recruit and retain high-caliber talent for key roles reporting to this position.
- Monitor employee productivity, hiring standards, and staff turnover; implement enhancements as required.
- Support teams operationally and strategically to meet growth objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in rural banking, KCC or credit products, or relationship management.
