Job description
About Bank of China Limited - Abu Dhabi
Bank of China Limited (BOC), founded in 1912, is one of the largest state-owned commercial banks in China with strong capabilities in cross-border finance and a global market presence. Our Abu Dhabi branch, licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE since 2014, focuses on fostering financial cooperation between China and the UAE. We serve Chinese outbound enterprises, local sovereign bodies, and leading corporate clients across the Middle East by providing a comprehensive range of wholesale banking solutions including corporate lending, trade finance, RMB clearing services, and treasury operations.
Role Overview
We seek a skilled Corporate Relationship Manager based in Abu Dhabi to handle end-to-end client relationship management and new business development focused on corporate and institutional clients in the UAE. The position demands acting as the primary liaison between the bank and clients, promoting wholesale banking products, delivering tailored financial solutions, and driving sustainable growth of the branch’s portfolio.
Responsibilities include independently managing client communications, business negotiations, credit proposal preparation, client onboarding and compliance with UAE regulatory and internal policies. Collaboration with related bank teams such as credit, risk, product, and operations is crucial to meet client needs, monitor portfolio quality, and support strategic initiatives focused on China-UAE cross-border finance.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential; native Mandarin speakers preferred to facilitate smooth communication with Chinese enterprises and UAE clients, including bilingual business document drafting.
- Chinese nationality candidates are strongly favored due to advantages in cross-border business communications and cultural adaptation.
- Strong expertise in corporate banking with comprehensive knowledge of wholesale banking products including corporate lending, trade finance, cash management, treasury, and RMB clearing.
- Experienced in credit analysis, financial statement review, risk assessment, preparing credit proposals, and supporting credit approval processes.
- Well-versed in UAE banking regulatory compliance, preferably with experience coordinating with risk and compliance teams.
- Proven success in corporate and wholesale banking business development and client portfolio growth, preferably within international banks or Chinese overseas branches.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related fields; professional certifications like CFA or ACIB are advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical thinking, and time management skills; ability to thrive in a multicultural and dynamic banking environment.
