Job description
Role overview
The Registration and Eligibility Officer will support patient intake and front-desk operations by creating and maintaining patient records, coordinating appointments, and checking registration and insurance details. The position also involves handling reception calls, processing payments, and keeping documents and records accurate and up to date.
Key duties
- Create and update files for newly registered patients, making sure all required information is captured correctly.
- Arrange, change, or cancel appointments according to patient and clinic needs.
- Welcome patients on arrival and verify demographic details and insurance information during registration.
- Inform the healthcare team immediately when a walk-in patient arrives.
- Check that all necessary documents, including insurance approvals and identification, are valid, available, and uploaded into the system.
- Answer incoming calls at the reception desk and guide callers or connect them to the right person as needed.
- Accept cash payments and keep transaction records accurate and reconciled.
- Prepare and total bills, verify transaction balances, and pass the shift handover documents to the Insurance and Finance Coordinator.
- Handle calls on the call center line, sharing information and support with patients.
- Route calls to the appropriate departments or staff members.
- Contact physicians to confirm schedules and assigned duties based on the OPD calendar.
- Carry out any additional tasks that fall within the scope of the role.
Requirements
- Practical understanding of MS Office tools and ERP systems.
- Good analytical ability.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in patient registration, appointment coordination, or a similar position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Excellent spoken and written English; Arabic is preferred.
