Job description
Role Overview
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing school-based responsibilities related to the registration, withdrawal, and maintenance of electronic student records at a career and technical education center.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic responses to both internal and external customers while positively representing Orange County Public Schools.
- Assist students in processes such as application, testing, registration, and generating email accounts for the technical center.
- Enter and update student data, including industry certification and job placement information, within the CampusVue system.
- Generate and verify student transcripts and certificates, including fulfillment of historical transcript requests.
- Administer state-mandated tests as required.
- Support teachers and guidance counselors in electronic record keeping and other student record functions in CampusVue.
- Maintain organized filing systems for all student-related documents.
- Provide front desk coverage, greet visitors, and manage telephone inquiries.
- Operate various office machinery like postage machines, fax, scanners, and copiers relevant to department tasks.
- Collect tuition or other fees if assigned to relevant areas.
- Create timely and accurate reports, keeping up-to-date with current technologies used by OCPS, supported by training provided by the district.
Additional Information
This role may include tasks not listed but logically related. Essential functions include data evaluation, human interaction, equipment operation, verbal and mathematical aptitude, functional and situational reasoning abilities. Work conditions involve physical effort including lifting and carrying objects over 100 pounds and exposure to environmental factors such as dust, fumes, and temperature extremes.
The position requires responsibility for front desk support during peak afternoon and early evening hours, approximately 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, delivering calm and solution-focused assistance to students, families, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED is required, supplemented by up to two years of prior clerical or secretarial experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that prepares the candidate to fulfill the job's essential functions.
