Position Overview
Renowned for our dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust invites Registered Nurses to join our supportive and established Renal Team. Based in a purpose-built Renal Dialysis Unit featuring nine dialysis stations, this role involves delivering chronic haemodialysis treatment to patients, ensuring they receive the optimal care required.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver patient-centred care by assessing individual needs and implementing agreed nursing and clinical protocols.
- Administer haemodialysis treatments to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients attending the unit thrice weekly.
- Manage a diverse clinical workload effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate closely with various healthcare professionals to meet the complex needs of chronic patients.
- Monitor care quality by applying clinical standards and audits, taking action to maintain nursing excellence.
- Contribute to the ongoing professional and personal development of the Nursing Team.
- Support nursing colleagues in identifying and mitigating environmental and clinical risks within the clinical area.
Work Schedule
The unit operates Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to midnight. Flexibility to cover shifts across these six days is required.
Candidate Profile
Experience in haemodialysis is not mandatory as comprehensive competency programs and practice development facilitators support new staff. Essential attributes include a flexible attitude to working hours and a strong willingness to enhance clinical skills. Commitment to delivering individualized patient-centred care is expected.
