Registered Care Aide - Victoria (3x 12-hour shifts)

Job Overview

Comfort Keepers Victoria is seeking dedicated Registered Care Aides to join our team to provide compassionate care in the Greater Victoria area. We currently have openings for three 12-hour shift positions, where you will play a vital role in improving the lives of our clients.

Primary Duties

• Support clients by assisting with personal care and home support tasks as directed by the healthcare team.
• Monitor clients’ conditions and promptly report notable changes in their health or behavior.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, clients, and their families to promote independence in daily and instrumental activities of living.
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, and toileting.
• Help with household chores such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, and laundry.
• Encourage and motivate clients to engage positively in their care plans.
• Provide feedback that enriches care planning efforts.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for clients and staff.
• Drive clients to appointments and recreational outings when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent education, training, and experience, along with a valid BC Registry Number.
• Clear or obtainable criminal record check.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Respectful and effective interpersonal skills.
• Physical capability to fulfill role responsibilities.
• Organizational skills and ability to operate necessary equipment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is advantageous.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Additional Information

Our office supports seniors throughout Vancouver Island, including communities such as Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt, and Westshore. Travel to these areas may be required, and efforts are made to assign care aides based on location preferences.
