Job description
Company Overview
CANATICS (Canadian National Insurance Crime Services) is a not-for-profit organization focused on identifying potentially suspicious insurance claims by analyzing pooled industry data with advanced tools. It helps both individual insurers and the wider insurance sector by providing reliable intelligence that supports the prevention of insurance crime. The organization places a high priority on data accuracy, privacy, and security in every analytical activity. With nine member insurance companies covering roughly 75% of Ontario’s auto insurance market, CANATICS plays an important role in helping protect Canadians from the effects of insurance fraud. Membership is open to all insurers, which creates a collaborative environment dedicated to reducing insurance crime.
Role Overview
The Regional Vice President of Operations is a part-time, remote position responsible for managing operational performance across assigned regions and keeping activities aligned with CANATICS’ mission and strategic priorities. The role leads regional operations planning, improves analytics delivery processes, and tracks key performance indicators to support efficiency and service quality. It requires close coordination with member insurers, internal analytics teams, and other stakeholders to enhance service levels, manage projects, and address operational challenges. Day-to-day work includes reviewing operational reports, handling regional budgets and P&L within the assigned scope, supporting cross-functional communication, and contributing to initiatives that help combat insurance crime. The position also involves coaching regional teams or partners, upholding customer service standards, and ensuring adherence to data privacy and security obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee regional operational performance and ensure it remains aligned with organizational goals.
Lead planning and execution of regional operations and improvement initiatives.
Streamline processes connected to analytics delivery and service outcomes.
Monitor key metrics, operational reports, and service quality indicators.
Work with member insurers, analytics teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve coordination.
Manage regional budgets and profit-and-loss responsibilities within the assigned scope.
Support strategic initiatives aimed at reducing insurance crime.
Coach and guide regional teams or partner groups as needed.
Maintain strong customer service standards and responsive stakeholder relationships.
Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and sensitive-data handling requirements.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring solid operations and project management capability, with the ability to coordinate regional processes, support continuous improvement, and drive execution. Experience in P&L management and strategic planning is important for handling budgets, allocating resources, and contributing to long-term operational direction. Strong customer service skills are needed to maintain effective relationships with insurers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has proven leadership experience in a regional or multi-location operations environment, preferably within insurance, financial services, or a data and analytics setting. Success in this role also requires strong organization, communication, and decision-making skills, along with comfort working remotely and on a part-time basis. Experience with data-driven operations, analytics tools, or business intelligence platforms is considered an advantage. A working understanding of compliance, privacy, and security issues related to sensitive data is also expected. A post-secondary degree in business, operations management, finance, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent professional experience may also be accepted.
Additional Information
This position is part-time and remote. The role is designed for someone who can operate effectively in a distributed work environment while maintaining operational oversight and stakeholder coordination across regions.
