Position Overview
We invite experienced and highly organised professionals to join Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships as Regional Support Officers. This leadership position provides comprehensive strategic and operational support to the Wildlife & Threatened Species Operations branch, ensuring efficient business and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver diverse high-level administrative services including budget management, procurement, workforce oversight, workplace safety, training coordination, facilities and resource management, records maintenance, and correspondence handling.
- Lead and foster effective administrative processes to support branch operations and organisational objectives.
- Manage financial activities by monitoring regional spending and performance aligned with budgets and revenue aims, identifying risks and trends, while ensuring compliance with departmental financial standards.
- Offer expert guidance on financial administration, budget formulation, reporting, and cash flow forecasting to inform strategic decisions.
- Coordinate workforce management involving recruitment, establishment administration, staff training and development, safety protocols, performance assessments, and resolving employee relations issues including disciplinary actions and grievances.
- Facilitate regional compliance through management of audits, stocktakes, system evaluations, and governance activities adhering to legislative requirements.
- Oversee regional facilities, accommodation, fleet, telecommunications, records management, and archiving, ensuring optimal resource use.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to administrative personnel, maintain essential business systems and information assets, and enhance administrative processes for continuous improvement.
- Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of high-level documents such as briefing notes, ministerial correspondence, business plans, monthly reports, and presentations, delivering these within deadlines.
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders including clients, Traditional Owners, employee representatives, and other parties to support constructive regional outcomes.
- Promote an inclusive workplace culture valuing diversity, respect, and safety, actively supporting positive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander outcomes and preventing workplace misconduct.
