Position Summary
An established industrial company functioning in a technically intricate and commercially competitive sector seeks a Regional Sales Manager and Managing Director for operations in Ireland. This leadership role merges regional commercial oversight with local managing director duties, providing accountability for business growth, governance, and operational excellence within the Irish market. The ideal candidate will be an experienced commercial leader able to formulate effective strategy, guide teams, and represent the company internally and externally at the national level.
Key Duties
- Formulate and execute a regional sales plan that promotes consistent revenue improvement, profitability, and increased market share.
- Lead, mentor, and enhance a high-achieving sales team by defining clear goals and performance standards.
- Supervise sales metrics including pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and CRM data integrity.
- Establish and maintain solid partnerships with key clients, collaborators, and distributors.
- Ensure adoption of a value-driven, consultative selling methodology tailored to customer needs.
- Provide comprehensive leadership and act as the business representative in Ireland.
- Guarantee compliance with local legal, financial, health and safety, and governance protocols.
- Serve as the primary liaison with governmental agencies, trade organizations, and key strategic partners.
- Manage budgeting, expense control, and ensure prudent utilization of commercial resources.
- Promote organizational values, ethical conduct, and adherence to the code of conduct.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, customer service, and technical teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, performance metrics, and employee skill development.
- Provide market insights and intelligence to regional and global leadership groups.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive senior-level experience in industrial or technical B2B sales leadership, preferably within manufacturing or engineered product environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage regional or country operations with responsibility for people leadership and commercial outcomes.
- Solid technical expertise related to machining, tooling, or production settings.
- Experience applying value-based sales approaches, customer segmentation, and opportunity analysis.
- Sound commercial judgement with a data-oriented decision-making style and financial literacy.
- Professional credibility to function effectively as a national representative and senior executive.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a connected field, or equivalent professional background.
- At least 5 to 7 years’ pertinent experience in industrial sales.
- Between 3 and 5 years of leadership experience managing teams or geographic regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
- Willingness to undertake travel within Ireland and regional engagements as necessary.
