Job description
Role overview
Carlsberg Group is hiring a commercially focused Regional Manager to oversee its Export & License business across South-East Asia and Oceania. This includes important markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
The position carries full profit-and-loss accountability for this region and is centered on driving profitable, sustainable growth across Beer, Cider, and Non-Alcoholic beverages, including Energy Drinks. The scope covers established businesses as well as challenger brands and new growth opportunities across segments, markets, and channels.
You will be expected to define and implement growth strategies, deepen partner relationships, and create modern route-to-market, sourcing, and commercial execution approaches that support long-term expansion. A major part of the role is also to strengthen brand equity and premium positioning through on-trade development, while delivering volume growth, market share gains, and profitability.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will own regional performance, shape brand and channel growth, improve commercial models, lead partnerships, and identify new business opportunities across the region.
- Take complete responsibility for regional P&L across export and license operations in South-East Asia and Oceania.
- Set ambitious top-line and bottom-line targets and ensure they are met through strong commercial execution and partner performance.
- Create and deliver regional strategies, budgets, and long-range plans.
- Build brand equity through ATL and BTL efforts with license/export partners and support from the marketing team.
- Strengthen on-trade operations as a critical channel for growth and brand-building.
- Improve brand visibility, activation quality, and the consumer experience in market.
- Use strong brand positions, including Somersby’s leadership in cider in Australia, to support growth.
- Design and implement future-ready route-to-market and commercial operating models across the region.
- Enhance sourcing, distribution, and partner structures to unlock growth.
- Lead route-to-market transformation efforts in priority markets.
- Drive premiumisation and expand market share across categories and channels.
- Increase Carlsberg’s footprint in Beer, Cider, and Non-Alcoholic beverage segments.
- Spot and activate fresh growth opportunities within existing markets.
- Develop stronger relationships with licensees, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Represent Carlsberg across the region and engage with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Identify, build, and deliver new business opportunities in the region.
- Support market-entry plans, new segment initiatives, and portfolio growth.
- Own business-case creation from end to end and see it through implementation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should bring a strong commercial background, deep FMCG or beverage experience, and the ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution.
- A degree in Sales, Marketing, and/or Business Management.
- At least 10 years of experience in FMCG or the beverage sector, backed by a strong commercial record.
- Prior experience or network in the Australian beverage market is strongly preferred.
- Solid exposure to sales operations, marketing, business development, and P&L management.
- Experience with route-to-market, distributor-led, or partner-led business models is beneficial.
- Strong commercial judgement and a growth-oriented mindset, supported by analytical thinking and execution discipline.
- Ability to work both strategically and operationally, from planning through in-market delivery.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, negotiation, and influence across functions, markets, and cultures.
- Proven ability to manage complexity and move several projects forward successfully.
- High energy, strong ownership, and a bias for action with accountability for results.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working and build momentum.
- Comfort working in a hands-on market-facing role while also managing numbers and reporting routines.
- Ability to operate across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Willingness to travel significantly and spend substantial time with partners and in the field.
