Job description
Position Summary
Rainforest Alliance is seeking a strategic leader with a strong commercial background to drive corporate engagement, partnership development, and revenue growth across Asia, Africa, and Oceania (AAO). In this role, you will lead a regional team that deepens relationships with businesses, industry bodies, governments, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.
You will help position Rainforest Alliance as a trusted sustainability partner, supporting companies as they respond to changing sustainability demands and identify ways to generate positive impact through responsible supply chains.
This position combines commercial leadership with knowledge of sustainability, agricultural supply chains, and corporate ESG priorities. It calls for confidence in working with senior corporate decision-makers, spotting strategic opportunities, and turning market insights into organizational action.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Engagement & Partnerships, you will contribute directly to Rainforest Alliance's 2030 strategy and help accelerate impact across some of the fastest-growing markets in the world.
Leadership and Management
- Create and execute regional engagement and growth plans that reinforce Rainforest Alliance's presence across Asia, Africa, and Oceania while meeting annual revenue, partnership, and impact goals.
- Guide and grow a regional team of about 8 people to improve commercial results, expand existing business, build strategic relationships, identify new opportunities, and deliver year-on-year revenue growth.
- Set up and track performance indicators, forecasts, and portfolio reporting, working closely with Revenue Operations and using data, analytics, and stakeholder feedback to improve decisions and performance.
- Review sustainability trends, regulatory changes, market shifts, and customer insights to uncover opportunities for impact, engagement, and income growth, then translate those findings into strategic recommendations.
- Act as the internal representative of customer and market needs, ensuring Rainforest Alliance's solutions, services, and strategies stay relevant to changing stakeholder expectations.
- Build and nurture a high-performing team aligned with Rainforest Alliance values, fostering inclusion, accountability, and professional development.
- Provide leadership, collaboration, and strategic support to the global Corporate Engagement & Partnerships function.
Advocacy and External Engagement
- Develop and sustain senior relationships with stakeholders in sustainability, procurement, corporate affairs, government, and civil society to deepen Rainforest Alliance's influence and market insight.
- Bring together cross-sector groups to discuss shared sustainability challenges and opportunities, supporting collaboration and wider system change in priority markets.
- Represent Rainforest Alliance in external forums, industry gatherings, and roundtables, presenting the organization as a trusted authority on sustainable sourcing and supply chain transformation.
- Increase Rainforest Alliance's visibility, credibility, and thought leadership across the region through purposeful engagement and public speaking opportunities.
- Work with the Communications team to create and share external content, insights, and messages that strengthen regional impact and support organizational priorities.
What You Bring
- A master's degree or an equivalent level of professional experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior B2B commercial positions, including complex sales, partnership development, or client leadership in international or matrix organizations.
- A strong record of building and leading go-to-market strategies that improve revenue and profitability, along with external engagement, senior stakeholder management, and representation in multi-stakeholder settings.
- Background in sustainability, ESG, or impact-oriented business models, ideally within FMCG, agriculture, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, forest products, or sustainability consulting.
- Ability to build, use, and activate senior networks to develop commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Leadership experience with the capacity to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable, supported by a clear commercial track record.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
Benefits
- Opportunity to join a global organization with a meaningful mission and a culture that values collaboration, respect, and accountability.
- Access to professional growth and career development opportunities.
- Remote work flexibility and a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
- Competitive pay and benefits.
- Generous time-off policy.
- Support for wellbeing and work-life balance.
