Job description
About the Role
This opportunity sits within Time Out's Marketing Department, focusing on the New York markets at two key locations: Time Out Market DUMBO and Time Out Market Union Square. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing for New York Markets, this role expands on the existing Regional Event Sales Manager position by integrating responsibilities for brand activations alongside event sales. The position commands a salary of $100,000 annually and requires onsite presence across both venues.
The Regional Event Sales and Brand Activations Manager drives two main revenue avenues: event sales—including private hires, corporate buyouts, and ticketed events—and brand activations encompassing liquor partnerships, sponsorship-led events, and collaborations with beverage and lifestyle brands. This role works closely with site General Managers to coordinate event execution and align commercial strategies, while collaborating with the Marketing Operations and Activations Manager who handles daily activation operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to all event inquiries at both locations on the same business day.
- Develop new event opportunities by engaging with local businesses and broadening the customer base.
- Manage all administrative aspects of events from inquiry to completion, including negotiating contracts, processing payments, creating floor plans, and following up post-event with clients.
- Collaborate with culinary teams and concession operators to devise attractive and diverse catering and event options.
- Coordinate logistics with Operations Teams and General Managers including site visits, tastings, vendor meetings, and provide on-site client support during events.
- Maintain and update the client database to foster repeat business.
- Conduct weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings with site management teams.
- Oversee the Triple Seat CRM program, managing inquiry conversions and tracking lost business.
- Prepare monthly sales and commission reports for management review.
- Meet predefined sales targets and forecasts monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Collaborate with Time Out Media sales teams to leverage sales opportunities across media and markets.
- Build and manage brand partnership and sponsorship pipelines targeting categories such as liquor, beverage, lifestyle, media, sports, and culture.
- Pursue sponsorship revenue streams including site sponsorships, themed activations, programming partnerships, exclusivity agreements, and seasonal takeovers.
- Lead negotiations and contract finalizations for brand partnership activations covering sponsorship fees, in-kind contributions, exclusivity, and deliverables.
- Strategically integrate brand activations into marketing plans alongside the Director of Marketing.
- Hand over approved activations to the Marketing Operations and Activations Manager for implementation, maintaining ownership of partnerships and contracts.
- Coordinate content opportunities with Social Content Creators for partner-driven marketing.
- Identify significant brand activation opportunities linked to major events, seasonal peaks, and cultural moments.
- Track and report key performance indicators concerning sales pipeline conversion, revenue targets, and sponsorship achievements to senior management.
- Manage a balanced allocation of time between DUMBO and Union Square sites, reviewed quarterly with leadership.
