Job description

Role Overview

The Regional Director of Operations is accountable for making sure multi-location operations across the region run effectively and without disruption. This leader oversees teammates and works in close partnership with providers and corporate functions to support exceptional dermatology care while maintaining disciplined financial performance and budget control. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborates closely with the Market Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry full profit-and-loss responsibility and provide leadership for roughly 23 dermatology clinics across 5 states, supporting more than 200 employees including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, aestheticians, and medical and administrative staff.
  • Create and implement regional operating plans and objectives covering revenue growth, financial performance, day-to-day operations, labor management, and clinical results.
  • Ensure clinic operations meet quality benchmarks and comply with all federal, state, and other applicable regulations.
  • Track performance indicators, acknowledge strong execution, and coach locations that are not meeting expectations.
  • Work jointly with Market Medical Directors and operations leaders to make decisions that strengthen the region.
  • Lead all employment-related activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional growth.
  • Coordinate with corporate leadership to remain aligned with company direction, share regional updates, and contribute to cross-regional strategic planning.
  • Hold regular discussions with physicians and providers to review individual performance and identify opportunities or obstacles.
  • Support regional business development efforts and coordinate those initiatives with Corporate Development, Operations leadership, and Physician Recruiting.
  • Assist the implementation team with integrating acquisitions into the region.
  • Oversee clinic relocations, expansions, and renovations to increase capacity, add services, and improve patient access.
  • Provide strong leadership to a geographically distributed team and build a high standard of performance across staff.
  • Promote excellent patient care and customer experience at every level of the organization, ensuring high satisfaction.
  • Help maintain a positive organizational culture through mentorship and leadership aligned with core values.
  • Contribute constructively in staff meetings and workgroups to support process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort using electronic health records and related systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing multi-site operations in healthcare services.
  • Proven ability to identify growth opportunities and drive territory expansion.
  • Demonstrated success leading in a fast-moving environment where change is frequent.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels, with proven collaboration with physicians.
  • Self-driven mindset and a commitment to high performance in every aspect of the role.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%, primarily by car within the region.

Working Conditions

This is an onsite, full-time leadership role supporting operations across multiple states within the region. Travel is a significant part of the position, with up to 60% travel expected, mostly by car.
