Job description

Role overview

SkyHop Global is looking for a Regional Director of Operations to oversee station performance across its Texas market, including Austin, Houston, and Dallas/DFW. This on-site leadership role is based in Irving, TX, and candidates must already live in the DAL/DFW area. The position reports to the CEO and carries responsibility for driving service quality, safety, financial performance, workforce readiness, and customer satisfaction across multiple locations.

The company is a fast-growing, service-led organization that supports airline crews with ground transportation nationwide. This business runs around the clock, every day of the year, so the role calls for a leader who is comfortable with urgency, change, and high accountability.

Compensation is a $125,000 base salary plus an annual performance bonus. The schedule is full-time, with roughly 30% to 40% travel. The role sits within a 24/7/365 operation and may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to urgent operational needs.

What you will handle

  • Oversee daily operations across all stations in the region and make sure each one meets the company’s financial targets.
  • Review station financials on a regular basis and keep performance aligned with target metrics.
  • Run monthly business reviews with station leaders using core KPIs, then update action plans where needed.
  • Work with station leaders each quarter to build operating plans for planned events and unexpected disruptions.
  • Make sure scheduling is done properly, including timely schedule posting, complete trip coverage under contractual rules, and correct LOD coverage.
  • Partner with HR to support recruiting and staffing so each station has the right headcount and availability.
  • Ensure station leaders complete onboarding correctly and within the expected timeline.
  • Create succession plans and build leadership depth by recruiting, developing, and assessing talent across levels.
  • Identify and prepare trainers for station leaders and drivers, and ensure every new hire is trained by a certified trainer.
  • Address performance problems promptly and constructively, escalating concerns to HR when needed.
  • Serve as the escalation point for service issues and ensure complaints are responded to within 24 hours.
  • Use observations and service data to identify root causes and improve execution through better processes.
  • Partner with station leaders to improve route planning, fleet use, fuel spend, and maintenance costs.
  • Strengthen the region’s safety culture through training, recognition, coaching, and employee engagement.
  • Make sure safety policies are followed and compliance risks are reduced through proper audits of fuel cards, time and attendance, maintenance, paperwork, vehicle records, and related documents.
  • Lead fleet managers so maintenance schedules are followed, the right number of vehicles are available, necessary tools are in place, and vehicles are kept in proper working condition inside and out.

Candidate profile and requirements

  • You should have a strong service mindset and prior experience in transportation, aviation, hospitality, retail, logistics, or another customer-focused industry.
  • Progressive leadership experience across multiple sites is required, ideally 5 to 7 years, with accountability for performance, engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • You must be able to support a 24/7/365 operation and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence people at different levels of the business.
  • You should bring strong planning, organization, and strategic thinking skills, plus the ability to stay hands-on while managing competing priorities.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing diverse teams is important, along with the ability to foster inclusion and accountability.
  • Financial understanding is needed, including budget management, P&L analysis, finding efficiency opportunities, and cost control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability is required for data-based decision-making and execution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • You must be willing to travel about 50% to 75% within the assigned region and occasionally to company headquarters.
  • The role includes physical requirements such as lifting, moving, and handling items up to 75 pounds as many as 20 times per day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • You need to be able to work in changing weather and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, along with compliance with the company’s vehicle and insurance standards.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain any permits, badges, or approvals needed from airport, municipal, or regulatory authorities.

Core values

  • Deliver “Raving Fan” service by going beyond basic expectations for customers.
  • Bring an innovation-first mindset and act proactively rather than reactively.
  • Stay accountable by setting high standards for yourself and your team and owning outcomes.
  • Ensure customers and employees feel genuinely valued.
  • Represent SkyHop Global’s values consistently through your actions and leadership.

Benefits and compensation

  • $125,000 base salary plus an annual performance bonus.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Disability, accident, and term life benefits.
  • Additional supplemental benefits.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Holiday pay.
  • Monthly safety bonus.
  • Daily cash tips.
  • Competitive pay with growth opportunities.

Additional details

  • This is a full-time, on-site position located in Irving, TX.
  • Applicants should currently reside in the Dallas/DFW area.
  • The position reports directly to the CEO.
  • The business operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Travel expectations are approximately 30% to 40% according to the role overview, and the requirements section also notes travel of about 50% to 75% within the region and to headquarters as needed.
