Regional Director of Operations - Eastern Region

Overview

Shorr Packaging Corporation is looking to hire a Regional Director of Operations to lead and optimize the supply chain network in the Eastern Region. This position involves working closely with regional and sales leadership to execute both strategic and tactical plans that balance cost efficiency, growth, profitability, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze new business strategies and financial reports to guide regional management toward profitability improvements and enhanced customer value.
• Assist in preparing the region's annual operating budget and monitor budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities and eliminate unnecessary expenditures.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop pricing strategies, tools, and metrics that support sound decision-making to maximize profitability.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by aligning priorities with company strategy and driving supply chain initiatives with actionable business cases.
• Coordinate resource allocation between daily operations and long-term projects while supporting warehouse capacity planning across regional markets.
• Oversee supply chain, warehouse logistics, and procurement support roles, ensuring alignment with corporate leadership's objectives.
• Implement cost-to-serve models to improve profitability for both key accounts and emerging business prospects.
• Evaluate and improve operating procedures to enhance efficiency and performance within the region.
• Establish and monitor KPIs across departments to maintain ongoing improvement efforts and conduct strategic benchmark analysis focusing on revenue, costs, margins, and customer profitability.
• Manage warehouse and transportation operations to uphold high service standards and cost efficiency, standardizing processes end-to-end within the supply chain.
• Ensure consistent adherence to corporate policies and procedures by all staff and maintain effective communication with regional managers and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, or a related operational field.
• At least 10 years of experience in operational roles within major B2C retail environments, especially in distribution, transportation, engineering, or inventory management.
• A minimum of 3 years consulting experience within B2C retail sectors, preferably involving network modeling and new facility startups.
• Proven track record managing transportation expenditures exceeding $75 million across small parcel, less-than-truckload (LTL), and import shipping modes.
• Strong experience leading contract negotiations for transportation, real estate, and professional services providers.
• Demonstrated capability managing operations across multiple sites.
• Prior involvement in pricing or profitability-focused roles.
• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
