Regional Director of Operations - Eastern Region

About the Role

Join Shorr Packaging Corporation as a Regional Director of Operations for the Eastern Region and embark on a journey as an employee owner. In this leadership role, you will collaborate with regional and sales management teams to execute tactical and strategic plans aimed at optimizing warehouse and delivery expenses while driving growth, profitability, and superior service delivery. You will have direct responsibility for overseeing the supply chain network across the Eastern region, driving measurable improvements in profitability and operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze new business strategies, financial reports, and current profitability, advising regional teams on necessary enhancements and proposing solutions to increase customer and regional profitability.
• Partner with Regional Management to develop the annual operating budgets and monitor actual performance against financial plans.
• Implement cost-saving measures when feasible and suggest ways to reduce unnecessary expenditures within the region.
• Collaborate with Sales to establish core processes, tools, and metrics that inform pricing decisions to maximize profitability for key and new customers.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, aligning priorities with overall business strategies.
• Translate business demands into supply chain initiatives, including business case development and benchmarking against best practices.
• Manage resource allocation between routine tasks, urgent requirements, and strategic initiatives.
• Support development of warehouse capacity strategies tailored to market needs within the Eastern Region.
• Work closely with corporate leaders to oversee Regional roles in Supply Chain, Warehouse Logistics, and Procurement functions.
• Drive profitability enhancements using cost-to-serve models to optimize returns on sales for key accounts and new business.
• Review and improve operational procedures to boost regional efficiency and performance.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators to maintain continuous improvement across departments and conduct strategic analyses on revenue, costs, margins, and customer profitability.
• Oversee warehouse and transportation operations ensuring high service quality, cost efficiencies, and standardized supply chain processes.
• Ensure employee compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain effective communication on business operations with the Region Manager, Sales Management, and relevant staff teams.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management, or a related operational field.
• Over 10 years of operational experience within major B2C retailers, ideally in distribution, transportation, engineering, or inventory management.
• At least 3 years in consulting roles specific to B2C retail, preferably with expertise in network modeling and facility startups.
• Proven experience managing transportation budgets exceeding $75 million across small parcel, LTL, and import modes is highly preferred.
• Track record of leading contract negotiations involving transportation services, real estate, and professional services providers.
• Experience managing multiple locations.
• Background working within pricing or profitability functions.
• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, and Warehouse Management Systems.
