Role summary
The Regional Director of Fitness Operations is accountable for the strategic direction and day-to-day performance of 10 to 15 fitness clubs within the assigned region. The position focuses on developing General Managers, strengthening operational consistency, improving financial results, and ensuring an excellent experience for members across every location.
Leadership and team development
- Guide, coach, and develop General Managers across 10 to 15 clubs.
- Hire, train, and keep strong leadership talent at the club level.
- Provide continuous coaching, performance oversight, and accountability for managers.
- Build a reliable leadership bench and plan succession for key positions.
- Promote teamwork, ownership, and a member-first culture.
Operational excellence
- Make sure every club meets or exceeds standards for cleanliness, safety, service, and maintenance.
- Drive consistent use of operating procedures, fitness programming, and service initiatives.
- Carry out regular site visits and audits to review performance and spot improvement areas.
- Ensure compliance with health, labor, and safety rules across all clubs.
Financial and business performance
- Own the regional P&L and deliver on revenue, EBITDA, and cost control targets.
- Support growth in memberships, personal training revenue, and ancillary sales through local execution.
- Track KPIs such as sales, retention, payroll, member satisfaction, and expenses, then take corrective action when needed.
- Work with Marketing and Community Outreach teams to strengthen brand visibility and support regional expansion.
Member experience and retention
- Ensure every location consistently provides a strong member experience.
- Monitor and improve satisfaction, retention, and Net Promoter Scores.
- Partner with General Managers to maintain welcoming clubs and engaging fitness programming.
- Handle escalated member concerns in a professional and effective way.
Strategic leadership
- Turn company-wide initiatives into practical plans for the region.
- Spot opportunities to improve operations, grow the market, and build competitive advantage.
- Share field insights and feedback with senior leadership.
- Lead clubs through change with clear communication and solid execution.
Additional responsibilities
- Step in with backup coverage and operational support when needed.
