Job description
Overview
This role is for a Regional Business Development Manager focused on ASEAN, hired by a medical device company known for advanced technologies that support better patient outcomes. The business is expanding its regional footprint and needs a commercially driven leader to strengthen distribution, improve market reach, and accelerate growth across the ASEAN region.
What you will do
- Oversee and strengthen current distribution networks while onboarding new distributors across the region and ensuring distributor training and promotional activities are well managed.
- Drive business expansion by identifying, developing, and partnering with distributors that can help grow ASEAN sales.
- Build the most profitable sales possible for the company’s products in ASEAN by extending coverage to physicians and clinical stakeholders through channel partners and acting as a value-added partner to healthcare professionals.
- Enhance channel performance by defining sales policies, logistics SOPs, KPIs, stock tracking, and product promotion practices across the distribution network.
- Create and open new routes to market, broaden sales coverage and market reach, and improve speed to market to capture tender-based and non-traditional opportunities.
- Work with distributor teams to execute sales, marketing, and clinical initiatives.
- Prepare forecasts and budgets for management, submit regular sales visit updates and other requested reports, and ensure compliance with sales administration and prospecting systems.
- Monitor competitor distribution strategies, policies, and actions and keep records up to date.
- Maintain regular contact with key opinion leaders, clinical associations, and industry partners to gather market insight and shape long-term channel strategy.
- Coach, mentor, and develop channel partner staff.
- Coordinate with clinicians and customers to support marketing plan execution and roll out campaigns such as product launches, workshops, trade shows, and promotions.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to localize marketing objectives and convert major initiatives into sales activity.
- Contribute to team success through shared planning, budget inputs, target forecasting, sales reporting, and marketing process support.
- Represent the business at regional trade shows, conventions, and exhibitions.
Requirements
- Completed intermediate to advanced level education.
- At least 10 years of experience in regional sales or channel management.
- Background in medical devices is preferred, including surgical devices and related products.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working independently.
- Solid team orientation and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Experience working with surgeons is an advantage.
- Able to motivate others and support regional leadership in business decision-making.
- Capable of operating within a matrix organization.
- Fluent in English and proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
