Job description

Position Overview

This role is a fully remote, full-time position based in King County, Washington, supporting the enrollment goals of Eastern Washington University. As a Regional Admissions Advisor, you will help prospective students navigate the steps toward applying, selecting courses, and enrolling, while representing the university across a defined recruitment territory. The territory may change over time as university priorities evolve, and may include Island, King, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties.

The position sits within Enrollment Services, a team focused on student success, strong service standards, and proactive outreach. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys helping people, keeps current on program details and assigned duties, maintains a positive approach to work, and can collaborate effectively while also working independently.

Key Duties

The advisor will manage recruitment activity across the assigned region through travel, communication with prospective students, admissions presentations, and review of application files. The work supports undergraduate enrollment efforts and helps students create academic plans that lead to a strong EWU experience and degree completion.

Compensation and Appointment

The annual salary range for this role is $44,712 to $53,658. The starting salary within that band will depend on the selected candidate’s education, experience, and skills. This is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026.

The role is classified as non-exempt, full-time at 100%, and is tied to King County in Western Washington. It requires the candidate to live within the assigned territory.

Benefits and Work Environment

EWU offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes institution-subsidized medical and dental coverage, disability insurance, retirement benefits with a 100% university match, paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, and tuition waiver options. Additional perks mentioned include discounted sports tickets, access to campus fitness facilities for a minimum fee, and free transportation through STA buses. The university also emphasizes professional growth, coaching, and a work culture that values efficiency, transparency, and employee wellbeing.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent on a successful background check. Because the role involves access to university funds or items of value, as well as unsupervised access to vulnerable populations, the background screening requirement is mandatory before start date. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States, as the university cannot provide visa sponsorship.

New hires must comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of MMR immunity or vaccination before starting work. Medical and sincerely held religious waivers may be available. This is an administrative exempt position governed by EWU Policy 406-01.

After hire, employees will complete required training through Canvas, and Workplace Belonging training will be coordinated by the Office of Employee Belonging, Development, and Leadership. Interviews may be held through Zoom, so candidates should be comfortable using video meeting tools and other related technology.

Physical and Work Requirements

The job requires extensive sitting and walking, the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, and participation in evening and weekend events as well as multi-day recruitment travel. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for travel-related responsibilities. Protective requirements may include following public and personal protection mandates and using an N95 respirator when needed for smoke conditions.

Application Timeline

Applications will be accepted through June 26, 2026, and review of candidates will begin the following day. References will not be contacted until candidates have been informed.
