Overview
The Recruitment Officer at Misk Schools is responsible for supporting the entire recruitment and onboarding processes. Working under the guidance of the talent acquisition manager, this role manages the full recruitment cycle ensuring compliance with internal policies and employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a comprehensive candidate database and develop a talent pool for future hiring requirements.
- Organize employment requisitions and manage job postings for open positions.
- Employ diverse sourcing strategies such as job boards, social media, recruitment agencies, and employee referrals to attract candidates.
- Review and evaluate candidates’ qualifications including education, experience, training, skills, and salary expectations.
- Conduct phone interviews and sociometric hiring tests; facilitate interviews including greeting onsite interviewees and scheduling meetings.
- Coordinate recruitment activities with internal stakeholders and external partners including agencies.
- Deliver a positive candidate experience acting as a representative of Misk Schools.
- Prepare pre-employment and onboarding documentation and conduct new hire orientation where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to safer recruitment practices and monitoring compliance with employment legislation and school policies.
- Collaborate closely with government relations regarding visa processes for international hires.
- Maintain weekly recruitment activity reports and manage recruitment team calendars.
- Foster strong partnerships with all departments to understand and anticipate recruitment needs.
- Support safeguarding efforts by promoting the welfare and safety of children, working in alignment with school safeguarding policies.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the line manager and adapt flexibly to organizational needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- At least two years of experience in recruitment, particularly in mass hiring environments.
- Previous collaboration with both local and international recruitment agencies is essential.
Skills and Competencies
- Understanding of end-to-end hiring processes including screening, interviewing, assessment, and onboarding.
- Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in diverse environments.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Capable of working autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proven ability to build and maintain critical relationships internally and externally.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous professional growth.
Safeguarding
The role requires active involvement in safeguarding children and young people by following the school's safeguarding policies and staff code of conduct. The officer will support the Designated Safeguarding Lead to secure the welfare of all students.
