About the Role
This unique recruiting position at a lean and high-level AI infrastructure startup places you at the core of hiring, directly influencing the company's strategic direction. You will collaborate closely with the founders and leading researchers, focusing on technical and go-to-market roles within an in-person San Francisco office culture.
The company pioneers in reinforcement learning and AI evaluation, developing tools that assist AI labs and enterprises to build, manage, and scale RL environments. To excel, you must become well-versed in the product to convincingly engage top engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruiting for technical roles (engineering, machine learning/AI) as well as go-to-market positions.
- Design and continuously improve recruiting processes and tools by prioritizing automation where feasible.
- Work side-by-side with founders and team leads to define job criteria, evaluation standards, and interview workflows.
- Develop in-depth product knowledge for credible candidate engagement.
- Source outstanding candidates through both conventional and creative channels.
- Evaluate candidates on technical skills, product understanding, and cultural compatibility, looking beyond resumes to portfolios and project work.
- Assist with onboarding and ramp-up for new employees.
- Contribute to establishing and executing performance reviews, leveling systems, and feedback methods.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated success recruiting for engineering, product, and go-to-market roles.
- Experience assessing candidates using portfolios, projects, and work samples beyond traditional resumes.
- Capability to grasp and discuss technical concepts fluently with engineering talent.
- Strong organizational aptitude to oversee multiple vacancies and pipeline flows simultaneously.
- Keen judgment for talent quality and maintaining a rigorous hiring standard.
- Experience at early-stage startups, comfortable working independently in dynamic environments.
- Proven innovative sourcing methods beyond standard practice.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on familiarity with recruitment platforms such as Ashby, Juicebox, and Clay.
- Experience applying AI-powered workflow automation and the concept of "vibe coding" to create recruitment tools.
- Exposure to or leadership in people operations and HR responsibilities.
- Track record supporting and evaluating candidates with unconventional profiles successfully.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $100,000 to $150,000 USD.
- Visa sponsorship is offered.
Location and Work Environment
This position requires your presence on-site at the San Francisco, CA office, as the company highly values the benefits and energy of close, in-person teamwork. Remote or hybrid work options are not provided.
