Overview
The City of Rockingham, located 40km south of Perth CBD, is a rapidly growing local government known for delivering exceptional services and facilities meeting community expectations. This temporary full-time role covers parental leave through to September 2027, with an average of 38 hours per week. The Records Officer (Compliance) ensures adherence to Western Australia Government privacy and information sharing legislations.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Ensure the organisation complies with privacy and information sharing laws, specifically the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (WA).
- Manage records in compliance with the State Records Act 2000 (WA), handling both electronic and paper-based systems.
- Apply knowledge of information classification principles and records management best practices.
- Communicate effectively within the team and across departments.
- Use initiative, sound judgement, and problem-solving to address challenges efficiently.
- Demonstrate strong organisational and time management capabilities.
- Operate confidently with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Plan, prioritise, and organise workload proactively.
- Identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement practical solutions regarding records and compliance.
Additional Information
The gross annual salary offered is $75,999, with a 12% superannuation contribution plus an option for an additional 5% co-contribution.
