Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Receptionist/Administration Officer with a background in the medical field to join our team on either a full-time or part-time basis, with a requirement of at least 40 hours per fortnight. The role involves working a flexible Monday to Friday roster within reception hours from 6am to 6pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring excellent care and professionalism.
- Accurately document admission and discharge information.
- Manage patient billing including invoicing, receipting, and account reconciliation.
- Coordinate theatre bookings and distribute schedules appropriately.
- Communicate with health insurance funds and perform eligibility checks.
- Support and promote a culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, and excellence throughout the hospital environment.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in a medical, healthcare, or hospital administration role.
- Proficient with computer applications, especially Microsoft Office and patient management software.
- Familiarity with FYDO or SimDay software is advantageous though not mandatory.
- Understanding of private health insurance systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with patients, medical professionals, and staff.
- Excellent time management, organizational capabilities, and communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours within our Monday to Friday 6am to 6pm operating window.
