Role Overview

This remote Radiology Scheduler position involves providing empathetic, precise, and timely assistance to patients by managing the scheduling, confirmation, cancellation, and rescheduling of radiology appointments across various imaging modalities. The role functions within a high-volume contact center setting and demands excellent critical thinking, efficiency, and adherence to healthcare protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex patient interactions using independent judgment, prioritizing and solving issues within established workflows and escalation procedures.
  • Schedule and manage appointments for multiple radiology modalities including Mammography/Breast Imaging, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, DEXA, Fluoroscopy, and related imaging services.
  • Simultaneously document all patient communications and appointment details in designated customer relationship management (CRM) and scheduling systems.
  • Provide knowledgeable responses to patient inquiries regarding imaging procedures, preparation instructions, provider orders, and general radiology information.
  • Maintain professionalism and empathy when handling sensitive medical or insurance-related information.
  • Accurately verify and record insurance data as per client-specific guidelines.
  • Review imaging orders and collaborate with providers and clinical partners as necessary.
  • Execute outbound calls for scheduling, follow-up, or resolving appointment issues.
  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations, call center performance metrics, confidentiality standards, and organizational policies.
  • Engage in coaching, quality assurance reviews, and ongoing performance enhancement activities.
  • Remain adaptable to support different clients, departments, or workflows according to business demands.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Possess a High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Have at least 6 months of experience working remotely in customer service, scheduling, healthcare, or a call center environment.
  • Understand and comply with contact center key performance indicators like adherence, quality, attendance, and service levels.
  • Type efficiently at a speed of 35-40 words per minute.
  • Be proficient in Windows environments along with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn multiple software systems including CRM and scheduling platforms.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving, multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Preferably familiar with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Adapt well to receiving feedback and adjusting to changes.
  • Availability to work assigned shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this role is $16.00.
