About the Role
Are you considering a career shift and eager to work outdoors along the railway network? We are searching for individuals ready to start as Construction Site Safety Specialists at DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH, based in Barsbüttel and other locations throughout Schleswig-Holstein. This position welcomes career changers (including those returning from parental leave). During the initial retraining period, you'll already receive a competitive salary. Upon successful completion of your induction, you'll handle your responsibilities independently and join our supportive team as a valued colleague.
Training Program
- Over approximately twelve months, you'll acquire all the essential skills and knowledge through a mix of practical exercises and classroom instruction.
- Training rotates between theoretical learning (held near your residence) and hands-on assignments in your future operating region.
- Experienced colleagues will mentor you, ensuring an accessible entry into the role, even for those completely new to the field.
- You are paid from day one of your retraining period.
Main Duties After Qualification
- Safeguarding personnel on track construction sites to prevent accidents.
- Using signaling devices and modern warning systems to alert workers of approaching trains.
- Ensuring adherence to on-site safety regulations and instructing newly appointed safety sentinels.
- Maintaining close communication with various stakeholders to guarantee smooth operations.
- Taking ownership for the planning and monitoring of safety measures on construction sites.
Your Profile
- Minimum age of 18 with a completed secondary school education.
- No prior experience required, but reliability and a strong sense of responsibility for safety are a must.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Proficient written and spoken German.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and at changing sites as needed.
- A driving license (class B) and personal vehicle are desirable but not mandatory.
