Role Overview
The Nanny will work onsite in Abuja, offering comprehensive childcare by supporting one or more children throughout their daily routine. This includes monitoring safety, creating and following schedules, and developing engaging learning and play activities. The position requires close coordination with parents or guardians, ensuring effective communication regarding each child's progress and any concerns that may arise. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to children’s well-being, maintain an organized space, and model patience and responsibility at all times.
Key Duties
- Supervise and engage children in daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Design and implement age-appropriate educational and play activities.
- Develop and maintain healthy daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and rest periods.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks that cater to specific dietary needs of children.
- Assist with basic homework or learning tasks where necessary.
- Communicate regularly and transparently with parents or guardians about children's development and any issues of note.
- Help maintain a clean and organized environment for children’s activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in childcare, babysitting, or a related role is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in supervising, nurturing, and engaging children of various ages.
- Working knowledge of early childhood development and ability to create structured yet flexible schedules.
- Ability to prepare simple, child-appropriate meals and manage nutrition.
- Clear and effective interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with children and parents alike.
- Capacity to remain calm in high-pressure situations and follow established safety guidelines.
- Relevant certification in childcare, first aid, or CPR is advantageous, though not strictly required.
