Overview
An established flooring contractor located near the East Mayo and South Sligo border is currently recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to become part of their expanding commercial team. This permanent office-based role offers the chance to contribute to a reputable company with an extensive pipeline of commercial and residential construction projects throughout Ireland, focusing on overseeing the financial and contractual management of projects from tender through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the commercial execution of various flooring and building projects.
- Generate precise quantity take-offs based on architectural drawings and specifications.
- Support estimating processes, cost planning, and tender preparations.
- Develop cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects.
- Source materials and subcontractors with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
- Draft and manage subcontract agreements and contracts.
- Track project finances including costs, valuations, and cash flow management.
- Evaluate and negotiate any project variations.
- Prepare interim valuations, payment claims, and final accounts.
- Provide regular commercial reporting and financial forecasts.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Ensure profitable project delivery while adhering to commercial controls.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree level 7 or 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 3 years of professional experience post-graduation in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong understanding of commercial principles and financial management.
- Thorough knowledge of construction methodologies and building standards.
- Proficient in quantity take-off processes.
- Experience with managing construction contracts and subcontractor accounts.
- Strong communication, negotiation and organizational abilities.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, especially in Excel.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
