Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Quality Technician to join our growing manufacturing site in Singapore. This position is key to ensuring the quality of incoming materials and assemblies through rigorous inspection and testing aligned with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate laser equipment and conduct reliability and incoming receiving inspections with proficiency.
- Perform testing and alignment of optics components to verify their functionality.
- Identify and troubleshoot laser and optical system issues, escalating unresolved problems to engineers.
- Initiate Quality Notifications (QNs) for any laser test failures and support logistics transactions within the SAP system.
- Support engineering teams in routine tasks such as validating Bills of Materials (BOM), performing engineering evaluations, and gathering relevant data.
- Analyze test data to identify trends or defects, compile precise Inspection Report Information (IRI), and communicate technical challenges to technical staff.
- Use precision instruments to install and align optical, mechanical, and optical sub-assemblies accurately within systems.
- Incorporate continuous improvement methodologies into daily operations to enhance processes and product quality.
- Fulfill additional tasks assigned by supervisors as per business requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a minimum of Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering specifically in Electrical or Electronic disciplines, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 4 years of hands-on experience with incoming inspection processes, laser manufacturing, or laser testing environments.
- Experience or knowledge of optics metrology and laser testing technologies is favorable.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and capable documentation abilities.
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
